Operations Manager Saco River Family Camping North Conway, NH 03860 Operations Manager Saco River Family Camping seeks a dynamic Operations Manager to take the reins of our day-to-day operations, ensuring our guests experience the best in family camping. Nestled along the picturesque Saco River, our campground is a destination that offers adventure, relaxation, and unforgettable memories. This is a year-round role with higher expectations for onsite hours in the peak season (50+) and lower onsite expectations in the shoulder and off seasons (40). The pay for this position is dependent upon experience and starts at $65,000. Performance bonus opportunities are available and benefits include 3 weeks paid vacation (Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks, plus one other as approved in off-season), two paid personal/sick days, a 4% company 401k match, a charitable contribution match, and other benefits like life insurance, long term disability insurance, and a Healthiest You membership.
Responsibilities Facility Maintenance:
Oversee and participate in the upkeep of grounds, buildings, and equipment, ensuring effectiveness, safety and cleanliness standards are met. Develop and maintain a 5-year capital improvement plan.
Guest Experience:
Ensure a positive guest experience by promptly addressing operational issues, collaboration with management and staff, and resolving guest complaints. Plan and execute strategies collaboratively with guest services to attract and impress guests with impeccable grounds and seasonal events.
Staff Management:
Supervise, schedule, and support the staff who focus on facilities, sites and rentals. Develop the team using a combination of training, in the moment feedback, and performance reviews.
Operational Oversight:
Monitor daily operations, including check-ins/outs, activities, and facilities policy compliance. Enforce safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and ensure adherence to local laws and campground regulations. Create, document, and implement SOPs.
Financial Management of Facilities:
Track facilities related budgets and the 5- year capital improvement plan. Manage maintenance equipment, supplies and inventory, and analyze facilities-related financial performance.
Vendor & Stakeholder Relations:
Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and community partners to support operations.
Requirements and Expectations:
Bachelor’s Degree:
Focus on Facilities or Hospitality preferred. Strong operational management and people leadership skills with an eye for details and the ability to forecast, plan, document, manage/direct the work of others. High levels of physical ability with lifting/moving 100lbs required. Interpersonally proficient with the ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations. OSHA 10 or 30 (or willing to obtain). CPO (Certified Pool Operator) or willing to obtain. ServSafe (or willing to obtain). Being mechanically inclined is required. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, such as weather, guest volume, or staffing needs. Knowledge of campground safety regulations and emergency protocols. Understanding of local laws, environmental policies, and insurance requirements.
