FACILITIES MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
Major Responsibilities The Facilities Manager will oversee the management and operations of all the physical facilities of church owned properties. Provide oversight and responsibility for the buildings, grounds, equipment, building systems, general security and safety, landscaping, snow removal, ensuring the facilities are fully operational, safe, clean and neat, and prepared for services and ministry activities. The Facilities Manager will oversee and perform maintenance/repairs for the church building, equipment (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical) and parsonage, or act as church representative with outside contractors and inspectors coming onto the property or into the building.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Knowledge of the practices, methods, and equipment utilized in facility maintenance, construction, and repair activities; including skills and abilities related to plumbing, janitorial, electrical systems, painting, carpentry, construction and heating and air conditioning systems
- Organize and oversee various building and property projects.
- Point person when there is an alarm or emergency. Point person for all facility renters.
- Must own a cell phone.
- Organize estimates, invoices, and payments properly and in a timely manner.
- Must be computer literate: email, Niagara software, typing
- Knowledge of the approaches and techniques involved in budgeting, labor relations, contract management, project management, record keeping, etc.
- Capable of coordinating multiple tasks in conjunction with the Property Committee and Senior Pastor
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and take initiative
- Must be able to use discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times
- Understanding of and alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the church
- Conduct a comprehensive review of church property, buildings, infrastructure and equipment annually to develop/update a capital improvement plan identifying short-range, mid-range and long-range needs. Present findings to Senior Pastor and Church Council.
- In conjunction with staff, church volunteers and outside entities, review and approve the use of property and buildings, to include details related to responsibility for setup and breakdown of activities.
- Coordinate the development and revision of policies and procedures related to safety and security for church property, buildings and events.
- Manage, supervise, and work with the church Sexton to ensure cleanliness and safety of property.

- Ability to lift/carry, up to approximately 50 pounds frequently, and occasional lifting/carrying of equipment weighing up to approximately 75 pounds may be required
- Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing/walking for long periods of time (60 minutes or more) Administrative Duties
- Attend Property Committee meetings (held quarterly) and staff meetings (held monthly).
- Apply a working and growing knowledge of all projects.
- Organization and record keeping a must.
Hours and Compensation:
10 Hours per Week – Monday-Saturday hours are flexible, Sundays 8:30am-12:30PM are a requirement Must be available and on premises during Sunday morning worship and other activities as required.
Compensation:
$23 per hour The Church will be closed for the following
