Full-Time, Exempt Position Overview The Bilingual Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and safety of Oyate Group’s headquarters. This individual plays a key role in creating a functional, secure, and welcoming environment for staff, partners, and community members. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of proactively solving facilities-related challenges while communicating effectively in both English and Spanish. Key Responsibilities Facilities Operations & Maintenance Oversee daily facility operations, including building security, cleanliness, HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and general maintenance. Coordinate and supervise repair work, building improvements, and ongoing maintenance needs. Manage facility vendors and service providers, including janitorial, pest control, landscaping, and security contracts. Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify and resolve issues proactively. Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations. Maintain emergency preparedness plans and procedures, including fire safety and evacuation protocols. Lead on-site safety trainings and ensure all staff are informed of emergency protocols. Respond to facility-related emergencies during and outside of business hours. Project & Budget Management Manage facilities budget and track expenditures related to repairs, maintenance, and supplies. Coordinate with the Operations and Finance teams on facility-related capital improvements and procurement. Support special events and space reconfigurations as needed, including setup and teardown. Leadership & Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for all facility-related matters. Maintain positive working relationships with staff, tenants, vendors, and community stakeholders. Provide bilingual support (English and Spanish) to staff and visitors to ensure inclusive and accessible communication. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities management, building operations, or related field (minimum 3 years preferred). Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security). Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish required. Availability for on-call support in case of after-hours emergencies. Familiarity with NYC building codes and safety requirements preferred.
