Activities associated with the position include assisting with overseeing daily maintenance operations, addressing performance issues, ensuring compliance with governing rules and regulations, and maintaining effective relationships with federal, state and local officials. Additional activities ensuring the accurate and timely submission of required program data and assisting with the procurement of needed professional services, materials and supplies Extensive knowledge of the current regulations governing the management of facilities. Extensive knowledge of the functions, structure, and operating policies and procedures of the Housing Authority. Extensive knowledge of the principles, theory and methods of management. Extensive knowledge of housing construction practices and methods including applicable housing and life safety codes and standards, excavation and development of property, available materials, etc. Thorough knowledge of supervisory techniques and practices including the selection, evaluation, motivation, training and discipline and/or discharge of staff. Knowledge of budget preparation, reconciliation and revision techniques and practices. Knowledge of all proprietary and commonly utilized software programs including database management, word processing, and spreadsheet applications. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Facilities Management, or related field supplemented with five (5) years of applicable work experience; extensive knowledge and experience in facilities management; thorough supervisory experience; excellent organizational, interpersonal and decision making skills; dedicated attention to detail; or any equivalent combination of education and experience to provide critical knowledge, abilities and skills listed above.
