Building/Grounds Specialist I
The Department of Administration’s (Admin) Division of Facilities Management and Property Services (FM) is seeking a Building/Grounds Specialist I to join the team. FM maintains and operates approximately 53 buildings which include the State House, Capitol Complex Office Buildings, the Governor’s Mansion, and other buildings in the Columbia area. In this role you will perform general custodial duties in state owned buildings to keep them up to department standards.
Responsibilities of the

Building/Grounds Specialist I:

Use basic custodial tools to perform tasks such as sweeping, dust mopping and wet mopping of tile/marble floors to keep the state buildings up to the departments cleaning standards.
Use extension pole dusters to maintain all high and low dusting/cleaning of window ledges/sills throughout the Blatt building to meet the custodial
departments standards.
Perform custodial duties not to be provided by the contractor as needed.
Handle the daily removal of the Blatt buildings’ trash, recycle paper, recycle cardboard, recycle aluminum cans, and plastic bottles.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

Additional Requirements:

Must be able to perform routine custodial task as directed by the custodial supervisor.
Position requires frequent stooping and/or bending.
Position requires frequent lifting.
Position may be required to report to work during emergency situations.
