Job Summary
The Project Manager•F&GM is responsible for overseeing and managing various facility-related projects, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and maintaining the operational efficiency of district facilities. This role involves coordinating internal projects, emergency projects, and capital projects while serving as a key liaison between the Facilities Department and other stakeholders, including custodial vendors, school staff, and regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management, leadership, and communication skills to ensure that all facilities-related initiatives are executed effectively and efficiently.
What you will do
Manage internal facility projects, emergency response projects, and capital projects.
Update and manage Facility Condition Index (FCI) data annually to assist in assessing and prioritizing maintenance needs. Maintain and organize data provided by managers to support the development of capital budget requests for facility improvements.
Review construction plans to ensure compliance with facilities standards.
Review and mark up plans for external and internal staff to locate known underground utilities.
Monitor annual stormwater system compliance reports and coordinate necessary corrective actions.
Oversee the annual playground inspection process, coordinating necessary maintenance and repairs.
Oversee the annual bleacher inspection process, coordinating necessary maintenance and repairs.
Oversee all FEMA reporting for emergency events, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
Act as the Facilities Department liaison with the Fire Marshal, reporting ongoing fire code compliance issues with facilities staff, tracking and recording violations and plans of corrective action.
Conduct quarterly performance reviews with contracted custodial vendors to maintain service quality. Review monthly custodial reports and address any identified concerns.
Serve as the first point of contact for schools regarding custodial issues, ensuring prompt resolution.
Work closely with internal teams, school administrators, and external contractors to ensure facility operations run smoothly. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates and recommendations on facility projects and maintenance concerns. Exhibit strong leadership skills, guiding teams to achieve project objectives while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
Education Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field Required
Experience Qualifications
Proven experience in project management, facility maintenance, or a related role Required
Experience working in an educational or public sector environment. Preferred
Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of building systems, custodial operations, and facility compliance requirements. (High proficiency)
Experience with budgeting and capital project planning. (Medium proficiency)
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. (High proficiency)
Strong verbal and written communication skills. (High proficiency)
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. (High proficiency)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management software. (High proficiency)
Familiarity with FEMA reporting and emergency management processes. (Low proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Facility Management (CFM, FMP) Preferred

$53,026.08
Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
