Facilities Coordinator Historic Tennessee Theatre Foundation 604 South Gay Street, Knoxville, TN 37902 Join Our Team as the Facilities Coordinator at Tennessee Theatre! Are you a reliable and hardworking individual with a passion for maintaining and enhancing beautiful spaces? The Tennessee Theatre is seeking a dedicated Facilities Coordinator to ensure the smooth operation of our iconic venue. This full-time, non-exempt position is vital to our success, performing a variety of tasks to keep the Theatre in top condition and ready for events.

JOB SUMMARY

As the Facilities Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the effective operation of the Tennessee Theatre. Your responsibilities will include cleaning, maintenance, event setup and teardown, and ensuring all clients’ requirements are met while adhering to facility rules, regulations, and policies. You will collaborate with the Facilities Department to perform preventative and reactive maintenance on systems, equipment, and structures, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

EVENT

SETUP AND TEARDOWN

Assist with manual setup and teardown for events, including unloading supplies, moving equipment, table/chair setup, maintaining table coverings, and security setup. Work other departments to ensure all setup requirements are met. Report all maintenance issues to Facilities; coordinate repairs.

MAINTENANCE

Perform regular preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and other Theatre fixtures under the direction of the Facilities Manager. Maintain clean and orderly work areas and assist with coordination of external maintenance vendors.

CLEANING

Perform facility cleaning and janitorial tasks, including office cleaning, restocking restrooms, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, and spot cleaning. Plan and coordinate “deep cleaning” activities with Facilities and part-time housekeeping staff, avoiding calendar conflicts. Track supplies, replenish stock and implement inventory management program. Assist with coordination of external cleaning vendors.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS POSITION

Has facilities management experience with a familiarity with building systems such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Is proficient with hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment. Understands preventative maintenance tasks and best practices as well as has familiarity with cleaning supplies, equipment, and techniques. Exhibits a keen ability to manage details and juggle multiple requests, prioritizing efficiently and effectively. Must be able to communicate effectively and work effectively with the team. Is able to effectively use communication tools including computer, basic software, Microsoft products, email and phone.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Hours :

Ability to work varied hours including early morning and late evening depending on Theatre needs.

Lifting and Carrying :

Ability to engage in moderately heavy physical activities, such as lifting, carrying, and moving heavy objects, containers, or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Reaching, Grasping, Stooping, and Bending :

Ability to reach up to and above shoulders, including stretching and bending movements. Ability to access high or low surfaces during cleaning tasks. Ability to reach and grasp items on shelves, handling tools, or adjust equipment. Ability to bend and stoop to access low areas, crawl spaces, or perform maintenance tasks that require bending and stooping. Flexibility and agility are valuable.

Standing and Walking :

Ability to manage extended periods standing and walking.

Ladders and Climbing :

Ability to climb ladders, stairs and some equipment required. Good balance and comfort with heights are necessary.

Vision and Hand/Eye Coordination :

Good vision and hand/eye coordination are necessary for using hand tools, operating equipment, and evaluating completed jobs.

Dust and Loud Noise :

Regular exposure to dust and loud noise occurs during cleaning activities up to a potential of 120 decibels. Exposure to

Cleaning Liquids and Materials :

Handles cleaning liquids and materials. Exposure to noxious fumes.

Infectious Waste and Cleaning Chemicals :

Exposure to infectious waste and various cleaning chemicals. Proper handling and safety precautions are crucial.

Operating Vehicles and Equipment :

Will potentially operate cleaning carts and janitorial equipment (like floor scrubbers or carpet cleaners).
