Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions. Summary The Supervisor, Facilities & Safety is responsible for overseeing all local efforts related to facility improvement, expansion planning, industrial hygiene, occupational safety, and environmental health concepts. Schedules facility modifications including estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs. Partners with the Director, Global Facilities & Safety to oversee coordination of building space allocation and layout, and facilities expansion. Serves as liaison between the company and local municipalities and agencies related to facilities activities. Has responsibility for overseeing health and safety standards. This includes leading the local facilities and safety teams, negotiating service contracts, maintaining facility and safety metrics for Johnson City operations sustainment, maintaining appropriate staffing levels assigned, and maintaining adherence to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

Supervises facilities team and contractors with a focus on Johnson City facilities operations. Ensures compliance with regulations and laws as applicable to facilities and safety efforts. Guarantees timely communication across multiple levels of the organization on facilities and / or safety related issues and/or to gain appropriate approvals when needed. Negotiate service contracts and manage these contracts to ensure the expected level of service is being received. Reports data on a weekly and /or monthly basis as requested or required. Ensures the proper operation and maintenance of security systems and equipment, including control card access, surveillance, fire alarm, and other systems. Works with security consultant to assess effectiveness of the security function, and recommend upgrades, repairs, and system improvements. Identifies and oversees new work processes and the improved utilization of human and material resources within the assigned or related functions or groups; facilitates others’ participation in the continuous improvement program; investigates and solves problems that impact work processes and personnel within or across units or department. Regularly inspect buildings, sites and equipment for needed repair/maintenance. Respond as on/call for all emergencies. Ensure execution of facilities maintenance operating procedures. Source local services and goods needed to perform day to day operations through 3rd party suppliers via the agencies’ approved vendors. Maintain Safety and Security programs for Clients/Employees/Staff. These programs include access control and alarm systems, employee identification, visitor access, etc. Provides oversight and ownership for intrusion detection and response. Performs other related duties and tasks as necessary or as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skills Required:

Experience in a regulated environment required (doesn’t have to be clinical trials, but any regulated environment). Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety or similar discipline preferred. Minimum of 3+ years’ facility and/or security/safety work experience in large, rapid growth site(s), required.
1-2 years in people supervision or management experience. Is an experienced leader with very good leadership skills.
Prior knowledge or experience in contracting and/or negotiating required. Six Sigma certification preferred.
Has working knowledge of police, fire, medical, and other emergency service provider procedures in responding to emergency incidents.

Working Hours/Location:

Onsite, Monday – Friday, 8am – 4:30pm
Overtime as needed
On-call on some weekends as needed
