FORKLIFT DRIVER

Boysen USA Alabama 17520 Brookwood Pkwy, Vance, AL 35490 SUMMARY The Forklift Operator is responsible for the daily operation of the forklift in order to stack, stage, transport, and load/unload material for JIS and other shipments both in and outbound. This role requires that operations are safe and done in a timely/orderly manner. Operator is accountable for and required to perform daily inspection before and after use for efficient operation and upkeep of forklift. This role demands an eye for quality and knowledge of customer specific requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to policies, daily work place organization & housekeeping; health and safety commitment; personal cleanliness & appearance; attendance & punctuality. 100% first time quality commitment. Provide production with material and containers as needed to maintain process flow. JIS Shipping

• Transport completed goods to staging areas until time of loading. JIS Shipping
• Load Trailers per shipment schedule and complete necessary JIS paperwork. Receiving
• Unload and stage material from trailers or containers. Verify accuracy of delivery and report any discrepancies or abnormalities. Receiving
• Load and unload material into High-bay following receiving processes. 5S
• Maintain a clean and clutter-free work environment.

Including processing and disposal of cardboard, pallets, and trash. Store material in assigned floor location ensuring proper stacking of containers Repackaging material into proper containers. Sorting material Recycled from Customer. Maintain a safe work environment through training and compliance to any and all company, state, and federal policies/procedures.

Assist production by:

ensuring forklift is kept functioning properly, meeting schedule demands, and maintaining process flow. Perform daily forklift inspections along with correctly filling out inspection forms. Conduct duties in a safe manner, follow all safety procedures, report incidents immediately, wears proper PPE and conducts duties to their level of training. Other duties as assigned.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

This position reports directly to the Logistics Manager or Logistics Team Leader and works directly with other employees in the logistics department. This position has a communication relationship with all department managers and other employees in the BAL Operations department.

COMPETENCIES / EXPERIENCE

Forklift experience in similar industry is highly preferred; must possess a clean safety record with forklift experience. Basic math skills required; must be able to determine load weights for forklift limits. Must be able to operate a computer. Must be knowledgeable of products, customer specific requirements, and handling procedures for proper transport, retrieval, and loading of trailers. Must be organized and show initiative. Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work well with others.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Must be able to pass Boysen’s forklift certification program.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

(Physical, etc.) Must be able to work weekends and rotating shifts as needed. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds. Must be able to be on feet for 8 hours or more.
