Full Job Description Description:

As a Forklift Operator specializing in boats, you will be a vital member of our team responsible for the safe and efficient handling of boats within our facility. Your role is crucial in ensuring the proper transportation, storage, and loading/unloading of boats, contributing to the overall success of our operations.

Responsibilities:
Safe Operation:

Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.

Boat Handling:

Safely move boats of various sizes and types, including powerboats and sailboats, within the facility and during loading/unloading processes.

Loading and Unloading:

Efficiently load and unload boats onto trailers, cradles, or other transport carriers while ensuring secure and balanced positioning.

Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate records of boat locations, quantities, and conditions, and assist in managing inventory.

Inspection:

Perform pre-operational and post-operational checks on forklifts and report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.

Communication:

Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate boat movements and ensure efficient workflow.

Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance tasks on forklifts and other equipment, such as fueling, cleaning, and minor repairs.

Documentation:

Complete required documentation for inventory control, maintenance records, and incident reports as necessary.

Training:

Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to enhance forklift operation skills and safety awareness.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid forklift operator certification and relevant boat handling experience. Proficiency in safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment. Knowledge of proper boat handling and securement techniques. Understanding of safety regulations and best practices. Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the condition of boats. Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management abilities.
