The Material Handler/ Forklift Operator operates the equipped industrial forklift to move materials in the warehouse region and to load and unload truck trailers and move product in warehouse. The Material Handler/ Forklift Operator will also maintain the equipment, machines, and electrical components.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Move controls, devices, and levers to drive forklifts of industry to transfer materials between unloading, processing, loading, and storage areas. Organizing and securing stored materials such as boxes, pallets, etc. Loading or unloading of materials manually, off or on to pallets, platforms, skids, or lifting devices. Report any damage to faulty equipment or any other safety hazards to the supervisor. Weigh products or materials and record the weight and further production information on label and tags. Complete forklift operator training. Perform other duties as allotted by supervisor. Load and unload trucks. Move and stack materials Keep production lines supplied with empty containers and packaging materials as needed. Rotate floor stock. General housekeeping duties in the warehouse or production area and duties as assigned. Follow good warehousing practices. Use common warehouse management software. Receive/process shipments. Perform proper forklift inspections and follow forklift operating guideline and procedures.
