Friday Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Forklift Operator (Team Lead) to oversee and participate in the loading and unloading of pipe products in a warehouse facility. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, with strong leadership skills to direct a small team of warehouse associates to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate movement of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forklift and other material handling equipment to load and unload pipe products from trucks, trailers, and storage racks. Lead, train, and coordinate a team of warehouse associates in daily loading/unloading operations. Ensure team follows safety procedures and complies with all OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Inspect and verify incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy in quantity, quality, and condition. Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and report discrepancies to management. Communicate clearly with drivers, dispatch, and warehouse management regarding job requirements and timelines. Conduct daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance needs. Monitor and enforce housekeeping standards in the loading/unloading areas.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Forklift operating experience Experience handling large and heavy materials such as steel or plastic pipe is highly preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed. Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols. Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Working Conditions:
Work performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise. Must wear appropriate PPE (e.g., steel-toe boots, safety vest, gloves). LtR8BM827v
