Job Description

Forklift Operator 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars 1900 Cowles Lane, Albany, GA 31705 Unloads and receives truckload, LTL, UPS and airfreight shipments.

Job Details:

Coordinates the receipt and unloading of bulk tanker items (peanut oil and vinegar). Loads export containers by mechanical or hand method. Ensures good product distribution for product protection and cube maximization. Identifies and relocates impounded product and completes appropriate paperwork and PRISM transactions. Work with production personnel to inspect and rework impounded product. Rotates materials and finished product (first in – first out). Utilizes good storage and stacking practices to attain maximum storage utilization. Uses PRISM system for all receiving and shipping transaction, to include warehouse moves. Creates bar code labels for each resource and places bar code label on each pallet. Completes all PRISM transactions for all product and material movements to maintain inventory accuracy. Utilizes computer terminals or radio frequency (RF) units for transaction entries. Loads vendor dunnage and shipping supplies for return to vendors. Completes PRISM transactions and paperless receiving transactions via data entry into the PRISM system. Loads finished product according to load schematic to meet customer orders. Ensure products meet quality standards, such as no damage, properly wrapped and tagged with proper labels. and that product is loaded in a manner to ensure good arrival condition at customer location. Completes packing list and bills of lading to accurately account for product shipped to customers. Rotates finished product from tempering rooms to south warehouse. Makes storage space available to best utilize existing warehouse space. Combines partial pallets of like product and enters changes into PRISM system. Mechanical ability sufficient to operate and adjust equipment in area of responsibility such as changing batteries or operation of stretch wraps machines. Monitors finished product in warehouse and takes action when a specific resource is available and has not been matched with shipping order. Unpacks and examines small incoming shipments, rejects damaged goods, completes OSD form for shortages. Suggests and implements changes in work practices and use of equipment to increase efficiency of operations, department or team. Works to resolve team problems. Takes on project work to include initiation and steps for implementing process improvement that will enhance team performance and/or provide operational or cost effective results. Completes Bills of Lading and other paperwork for all receipts and shipments. Prepares and ships packages to be delivered by UPS, Federal Express, etc. Affixes shipping labels or shipping information on cartons. Coordinates the inbound scheduling and receipt of peanuts. Coordinates with PIC, production and motor carriers to ensure delivery appointments are arranged and kept. Tracks inbound peanut receipts. Unpacks and examines small incoming shipments, rejects damaged goods, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Routes items to proper departments. Utilizes P.O. Writer computerized system to complete pertaining to receipt of items not in the PRISM system. Matches receivers with specific purchase orders. Verifies accuracy of tally sheets and paperwork. Maintains all associated files for shipping and receiving activity. Properly routes and distributes paperwork to appropriate departments and personnel. Demonstrates accuracy, is detail oriented, able to handle multiple tasks and manages interruptions and withstands pressure.

FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

Will direct activities to assure programs, policies, and practices are followed to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements. Will support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF Food Safety and Food Quality System. Will be accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
