Position Summary:

The Gatekeeper/Forklift Operator is responsible for accurately controlling the entry of finished production into the plant’s system. This includes counting the daily production, recording data in the internal software, labeling products correctly, and ensuring that all finished products are digitally packed according to established procedures. Additionally, the role requires safe and efficient operation of the forklift to transport pallets from production lines to storage or dispatch areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Production and Inventory Control:

Accurately count and record finished production in the internal system. Perform the digital “pack out” of products as processed on each line. Properly label each box of finished product. Immediately report any quantity discrepancies, programming deviations, or production issues. Operate forklift to move pallets of finished product from production to storage or shipping areas. Maintain a clean and organized work area, free of obstructions. Strictly follow internal procedures and safety regulations. Report any unsafe conditions or contamination risks to the supervisor. Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times. Perform other production-related tasks as assigned.

Warehouse Management:

Ensure accuracy of inventory in ambient, refrigerated, and frozen storage areas. Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for product location. Apply “First In, First Out” (FIFO) procedures accurately.

Food and Warehouse Safety:

Adhere to food safety and sanitation protocols in all operations. Keep the work environment organized and hazard-free. Regularly inspect warehouse equipment to ensure safe operation. Wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety tools as required.

Requirements:

Proven experience operating a Forklift and/or Electric Pallet Jack. Valid forklift license. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety protocols. Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform repetitive tasks. Strong attention to detail, time management, and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a cold environment (34°F – 38°F).
