Full Job Description Position Summary:
Responsible for safely operating a forklift in a warehouse environment.
Essential Functions:
- Complete the Daily Forklift Maintenance / Pre-shift Inspection sheet.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Move product onto pallet in correct position.
- Scans product and move to loading / staging areas.
- Check for accuracy and placement.
- Attach correct labels to product.
- Loads and unloads materials on and off pallets, skids, or lifting devices.
- Inventory product as needed. (Level 2 and 3)
- Label, sort, stack, wrap and tie product as needed.
- Operate a forklift to move, stack, and organize materials and products.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers using a forklift.
- Perform order picking and ensure accuracy in product selection.
- Ongoing time management and prioritization.
- Must be able to safely operate a Forklift and must be able to pass company-wide safety (physical and written) test. Follow safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Frequently reading picklist and RF device and following instructions.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks as needed.
- Refuel and handle propane and clean as needed while using appropriate PPE.
- Maintain productivity and accuracy standards.
- Maintains the cleanliness of aisles by removing any debris from floor and racks.
- Always follow safety policies and practices.
- May perform other duties of Inventory / Utility as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to fulfill company’s objectives.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Years of experience operating a stand-up forklift: o Level 1: 0-2 years of experience operating a sit-down propane forklift OR demonstrates 1 forklift equipment type. o Level 2: 3-5 years of experience operating a sit-down propane forklift OR demonstrates 2+ equipment types of sit-down and stand-up, or other combinations.
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year warehouse experience.
- Ability to obtain Forklift Certification.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations related to forklift operation.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Able to communicate and write legibly In English; basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Must be able and willing to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The employee also must be capable of following written and verbal instructions.
Physical and Mental Demands:
This job will frequently require standing, walking, sitting, handling, driving, reaching outward, balancing, climbing, and reaching above the shoulder.
- The associate must know and follow proper office and GMP safety protocols; know and follow Company’s grooming, hygiene and dress code policies including appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) for safety compliance.
- Able to work extended hours, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays, and other shifts and overtime as needed, to meet customer requirements.
- Able to work in fast paced environment.
Work Environment:
- The employee is frequently exposed to moving machinery.
- The job will occasionally require lifting / carrying / push / pull up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse (indoor temperature fluctuates through each season)
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
