Forklift Operator Position Available In Bristol, Massachusetts

Position Description:

Under general supervision, Forklift Operator,Warehouse Worker will ensure safe and accurate receipt, storage, andshipment of products utilizing equipment including, but not limited to,sit down and stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, and radio frequencyequipment. Occasional travel to other building locations may be requiredbased on business needs. Primary Responsibility /

Essential Functions:

Load and unload freight using equipment in an efficient and safe manner.

Move product to storage areas with proper equipment. Efficiently stackand safely store the product in the designated area. Pick orders forshipment and assemble various types of products to be shipped. Check orcount freight for accuracy and/or damage. Assist in maintaining thesecurity of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner which promotessafety. Participate in physical inventories, as needed. As directed bymanagement, perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking.

Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Equipment to include, but notlimited to, sit down and stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks, palletinverter, and pallet squeezer. Promptly Report all safety malfunctionson equipment. Comply with OSHA standards. Must be able to meetproduction standards. Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly workenvironment. Follow attendance policy, show up for work on time andready to work assigned shifts. Charge and fill forklift batteries asneeded. Perform other duties as assigned, may be required to performduties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, asneeded. All employees are responsible for maintaining cleanliness in thefreezer and on the dock, including tasks such as sweeping and lumpingand restacking pallets as necessary

Requires ability to work independently May work overtime, evenings, orweekends in order to complete work as directed and authorized bymanagement Requires the ability to pay close attention to details andmeet deadlfnes. Must be able to relate to other people beyond giving andreceiving instructions. Perform work activities requiring reasoning,negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; andrespond appropriately to corrective directions from a supervisor.

Physical Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individualmust be able to perform the essential functions for this position andmeet the physical requirements needed to perform them, including but notlimited to: frequently requiring the ability to drive a forklift, sit;hear or talk use close vision; use hands to grasp, handle or feelobjects; and type and manipulate controls. Employees are occasionallyrequired to use distance vision, stand, kneel or crouch. Whileperforming the essential functions of this job: the employee is requiredto lift up to 70 lbs. Will be required to tolerate working environmentwith inside controlled temperatures of -15 degrees Fahrenheit andoutside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold and precipitation)Must tolerate heights up to 30 ft. and be able to access elevatedproducts from inside safety cage. May stand to rebuild pallets withproducts. Requires tolerance of standing posture up to 5 hours, over an8-hour shift Must transfer boxes weighing up to 55 lbs. from groundlevel to 60 inches in height and up 70 lbs. to 50 inches in heightrebuilding pallets.
