Forklift Operator Position Available In Hampden, Massachusetts

Forklift Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator with at least one year of experience within the past two years. The role involves operating a forklift to retrieve products from heights of 2-3 floors, as well as loading and unloading trailers. Wrapping will also be part of the job as well. The candidate will engage in a variety of tasks, including packing screws, bolts, and fasteners, and handling freight. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required. Responsibilities Operate a forklift safely to move raw and shipping goods within the manufacturing and warehouse floors. Retrieve products from heights up to 2-3 floors using a forklift. Load and unload trailers with freight. Pack screws, bolts, and fasteners efficiently. Wrap pallets to ensure they are secure. Utilize a scan gun or work with manifests and work orders for inventory management. Pick and select products as required. Adhere to safety practices while operating the forklift. Essential Skills Minimum of 1 year experience operating a forklift within the past 2 years. Experience with material handling and warehouse operations. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Knowledge of safety practices in forklift operations. Great attendance record from prior employment. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Experience operating a forklift in close quarters is preferred. Familiarity with RF scanners and inventory systems is a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a newer and very clean warehouse facility. Operators will use the forklift approximately 40-60% of the time, and the remaining time will be spent on various tasks such as packing and loading. Safety is a priority, especially when operating in close quarters. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agawam, Massachusetts. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
