Yard Jockey/Forklift Operator 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Ludlow, MA 01056 Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and skilled Yard Driver to join our team. The Yard Driver will be responsible for maneuvering and transporting trailers within the yard, ensuring efficient loading and unloading operations. This role requires a strong understanding of various types of trailers and driving equipment, as well as a commitment to safety and compliance with all regulations.
MUST HAVE FORKLIFT EXPERIENCE!
!!! Duties Operate yard trucks to move trailers in and out of loading docks. Perform routine inspections on vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition. Assist in loading and unloading trailers using forklifts or other equipment as necessary. Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and inventory. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while driving within the yard. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and other drivers to coordinate movements. Handle flatbed, tanker, refrigerated trailer, dump truck, and tractor-trailer operations as required. Requirements Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is preferred. Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed, tanker, refrigerated trailers, or dump trucks. Familiarity with route driving and delivery driver responsibilities. Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members. Must be able to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policy.
