Job Description
1st shift Forklift Operator/ General Laborer We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator and Material Handler to join our team. This role involves operating a sit-down forklift, with responsibilities including cleaning, sweeping paper, loading and unloading paper bales. You will receive training on Clamp Truck and Skid Steer operation. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with general labor and clean-up tasks, spending approximately 70% of their time on the forklift and 30% off. A coachable attitude and a safety-first mindset are essential for this position. Responsibilities Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently. Clean and sweep paper during the first two weeks. Load and unload paper bales. Train on Clamp Truck and Skid Steer. Perform general labor and clean-up tasks. Follow all OSHA and company policies. Handle heavy equipment properly and safely. Standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Essential Skills Experience operating a sit-down forklift. Comfortable with general labor and clean-up tasks. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Knowledge of OSHA and company safety policies. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Clamp Truck operation. Background in manufacturing or construction is a plus. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely. Willingness to be coached and trained on new equipment. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a non-climate controlled environment at a paper and cardboard recycling center. The work involves handling recycled materials and operating heavy machinery in varying conditions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Olive Branch, Mississippi. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
