Dock Worker/Forklift Operator North River Shipyard Nyack, NY 10960 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Dock Worker to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our shipping and receiving processes. As a Dock Worker, you will be responsible for loading and unloading goods, operating various warehouse equipment, and maintaining safety standards. Responsibilities Load and unload trucks and containers efficiently using forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks. Perform order picking tasks to prepare shipments accurately according to customer specifications. Maintain an organized and clean work area to ensure safety and efficiency. Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory and manage stock levels. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and address any operational issues. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues. Adhere to OSHA safety regulations at all times while performing tasks. Requirements Previous experience as a Dock Worker or in a similar warehouse role is preferred. Proficient in operating forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks; certification is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues. Familiarity with warehouse management systems for efficient inventory tracking. Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
