Material Handler/Forklift Operator (part of Allegis Group) 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars Canonsburg, PA 15317 Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced distribution center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently loading and unloading materials, operating various types of forklifts, and ensuring that all tasks are performed in compliance with OSHA regulations. This role is crucial for maintaining the flow of goods within our facility and requires a strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Duties Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas. Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against packing lists. Conduct order picking using cherry pickers to retrieve products from high shelves. Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stock organization within the warehouse. Ensure compliance with safety standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and report any mechanical issues. Assist in heavy lifting tasks as required to support team operations. Skills Proficient in operating forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks. Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues. Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes in a distribution center environment. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor as needed. Understanding of OSHA safety regulations related to forklift operation. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
