The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of goods within our facility. This role is crucial for maintaining a smooth workflow in shipping and receiving operations while adhering to safety standards. Duties Operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to transport materials and products throughout the warehouse. Load and unload trucks, ensuring that items are handled safely and efficiently. Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and manage stock locations. Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and other equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues. Assist in shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying shipments against purchase orders and preparing items for dispatch. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety protocols to minimize risks. Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency. Requirements Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse setting. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise. Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including inventory management practices. Experience operating heavy equipment such as cranes is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety regulations. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. A valid forklift operator certification is required; additional certifications for heavy equipment operation are a plus.
