Monday-Thursday Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, stack, and retrieve materials in our warehouse or distribution center. This is a vital role in our operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods throughout the facility.
Duties:
- Operate a forklift to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse or distribution center
- Safely stack and retrieve products or materials using the appropriate forklift attachments
- Conduct routine inspections of the forklift and report any maintenance or safety issues
- Assist with inventory control by accurately recording product movement and maintaining organized storage areas
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including OSHA regulations, to maintain a safe working environment
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers
Experience:
- Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or distribution center setting
- Proficiency in basic math skills for inventory management and order picking
- Familiarity with order picking processes and warehouse management systems
- Knowledge of different types of forklifts, such as cherry pickers or order pickers, is preferred
- Experience in shipping and receiving is a plus
Skills:
- Valid forklift operator certification/license
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members
