Material Handler/Forklift Operator TBI Services Group Gallaway, TN 38036 Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced steel fabrication environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to efficiently move, load, and unload products within our distribution center. This role is crucial for maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring that shipping and receiving operations run smoothly. Hours are 6am to 5:30pm, Monday through Thursday. 6am to 2:30pm, Friday. Occasional Saturdays, 6am to 12pm. Duties Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to transport materials within the warehouse. Operate overhead cranes. Handle shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory management. Perform heavy lifting and materials handling as required to support warehouse operations. Assist with order picking to fulfill customer requests accurately and efficiently. Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with OSHA safety standards. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and address any operational challenges. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality. Skills Experience with a chain/hoist crane. Proficiency in shipping and receiving processes within a distribution center setting. Strong materials handling skills, including experience with heavy lifting techniques. Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to warehouse operations. Ability to operate various types of forklifts and pallet jacks safely and effectively. Experience in order picking and building orders for shipment. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while following instructions from supervisors.
