PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
Mounting of paperboard rolls as needed to meet production requirements. Bands and rebinds large scrap boxes.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY
Correctly pulls the roll from the staging area and mounts on the roll stand Responsible for removing and replacing pallet cards/job tickets on the roll stands Responsible for trimming bad layers of board off the roll in order to Communicates with operators, leads and set up to ensure proper materials are available for achieving production goal Checks the quality of product prior to roll mounting to match job standards Assists In rethreading machine when downtime is caused by improper splicing procedure Changes the roll stands over in order to accommodate the different roll widths After each roll stand change for cutting, it will be the responsibility of the roll mounter to have the supervisor or lead check for proper spacing and bolt tightness before a roll is mounted Reads instructions on roll stands instructing how to properly set the roll stand Empties scrap barrels located throughout the department as they become full Responsible for setting up the roll splicer properly Responsible for returning bad or unused rolls to inventory by banding together, filling out the proper paperwork for bad rolls, and having them removed from the area Performs daily forklift checklist and routine maintenance on equipment including cleaning equipment Ask Be a Certified Forklift operator, and carry a copy of your certification with you Communicates well with other team members Wears appropriate PPE for the task and the area. Welcomes updates and improvements to processes and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation Performs work in a manner that keeps down time to a minimum Maintains a clean work environment in accordance with Food Safety and 5S systems Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines. Use situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions May be asked to help with duties in other areas or departments
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.?
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide both fractions and decimals, solve equations, read a tape measure, and have an understanding of both standard and metric measuring systems.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must become a certified powered industrial equipment operator in accordance with SCT training and carry a copy of your certification with you. Ask Tim Harris
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with arms and hands. Frequently required to climb, balance, twist, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, frequently must lift/move 25 to 50??? pounds. Must be able to perform these functions for a minimum of 8 hours straight (with a 30-minute meal break any other applicable breaks during his/her shift) on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
