Job Summary:

The Forklift operators will play a critical role in the function of a warehouse, helping to move goods, supplies and materials from one place to another – onto and off of shelves, trucks, pallets, etc. – while adhering to strict government and company safety standards. They are also responsible for daily forklift inspections and checks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Load and unload products from trailers using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment. Store the products in proper places in warehouse. Transport products to and from warehouse storage and production. Deliver products to various areas in safely and timely manner. Move and load hazardous wastes under direction of supervisor. Clean work area and equipment regularly by removing empty pallets, wood and plastic. Follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure safe and positive work atmosphere. Maintain forklift equipment by troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance. Loading and unloading goods from vehicles. Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following stock control instructions. Checking loads are secure stacking empty pallets performing daily equipment checks.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Previous experience in using a forklift in a manufacturing environment is preferred. High School Diploma is required.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must pass forklift training. Must have good communication skills.

Physical Demands:

The ability to lift up to 45 lbs. Occasionally climb shop ladder. The ability to carry extruded aluminum of up to 18 feet in length. •This employment advertisement is not applicable to individuals who reside in the states of California or Colorado.•
