We serve families with children who are facing housing instability or homelessness through our pillars of support (emergency shelter, homeless prevention, rapid rehousing and work for success) which allow our team to work collaboratively to help families transition from crisis to stability. We are in search of a dedicated full-time Grant Coordinator to help fuel this mission by securing critical funding through compelling and strategic grant proposals. What We Offer

Position Summary The Grant Coordinator is a key member of the Development Team and is responsible for identifying, writing, and managing grant opportunities that align with Dawning Family Services’ programs and strategic goals. This individual will work across departments to craft persuasive narratives that reflect the organization’s impact and potential. This full-time role is ideal for a skilled writer with a strong understanding of the nonprofit sector and a successful track record in grant writing and fund development. Key Responsibilities Research and identify prospective private, corporate, and government grant opportunities. Prepare and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents in alignment with funder guidelines and organizational priorities. Collaborate with program staff to gather data, outcomes, and stories to support grant narratives. Develop and maintain an active grants calendar, ensuring timely submissions, follow-ups, and compliance with reporting requirements. Maintain relationships with current and potential funders, helping to build long-term partnerships. Track proposal outcomes and maintain accurate records in the donor database (Bloomerang or like donor CRM). Contribute case statements, budget narratives, and impact reports for development initiatives. Support cross-functional development projects as needed, including donor communications and campaign messaging. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Public Administration, or a related field preferred. 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit grant writing with a successful track record of awarded grants. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems such as Bloomerang, Raiser’s Edge, Donor Drive, etc. is a plus. Knowledge of family homelessness, housing services, or human services funding is highly desirable. Schedule and Work Environment Full-time, 40 hours/week with the possibility of hybrid remote work upon successful completion of your 90-Day review. Standard business hours with occasional evenings or weekends during major deadlines or events.
