Director of Development Central Florida Camp Boggy Creek 30500 Brantley Branch Road, Eustis, FL 32736 Company Overview Camp Boggy Creek is a non-profit organization located on 232 acres in Lake County, Florida, established in 1996 by actor and philanthropist Paul Newman. Our mission is to create a joyful, safe, and medically sound camp environment for children with serious illnesses and their families, enriching their lives through unique camping experiences. Summary The Regional Development Director Central Florida is responsible for seeking out opportunities and developing initiatives to secure philanthropic support for Camp Boggy Creek. Responsibilities include identifying, cultivating and soliciting individuals, civic organizations, foundations and corporate prospects in the region to ensure a strong base of ongoing financial support that will allow the organization to achieve its goals. Responsible for soliciting and cultivating over $800K + in revenue annually, the person in this position will design and execute a fundraising strategy to build and grow their own portfolio, while cultivating strong relationships. This role includes engaging and closing event sponsorships for the organizations signature events including Teddy Morse’s Ride for Kids, The Tumbleweed Fun Run and Gravel Ride and other events as they occur
Responsibilities:
Cultivate and grow meaningful relationships with donors and prospects to drive year-over-year revenue growth. Research and evaluate donors and prospects to assess interest, giving capacity, and potential connections. Develop and execute individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies for a defined portfolio of donors and prospects. Establish annual donation projections and monitor progress through all phases of the donor lifecycle: acquisition, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, retention, and growth. Engage with all donors and prospects in the assigned portfolio at least once per quarter through calls, meetings, and emails. Collaborate closely with the Chief Development Officer, Director of Donor Relations, and broader Development team to maximize fundraising results. Identify and engage new donors and financial advisors to build a robust pipeline of long-term support. Prepare compelling proposals, reports, and stewardship materials tailored to donor interests and impact. Analyze and report on giving trends, highlighting new, growing, and at-risk donor segments to support strategic decision-making. Maintain accurate and timely records of all donor activities, interactions, and pipeline updates in Raiser’s Edge on a weekly basis. Travel throughout Central Florida, with occasional overnight travel to Jacksonville and Tampa, as needed. Participate in evening and weekend events, donor meetings, and activities as required
Requirements Communication Skills:
Clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable with public speaking.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is a plus.
Detail-Oriented:
Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
Reporting Expertise:
Demonstrated competency in reporting and analyzing data to inform strategic impact.
Teamwork:
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Self-Starter:
Capable of working independently and taking initiative.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Strong personal alignment with CBC’s mission, vision, and values. Strategic and creative thinker, proactive, entrepreneurial, driven, highly organized, demonstrated hands-on experience with proven ability to meet goals and deadlines with significant impact to the organization’s goals. Demonstrated strong proficiency in written communications and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Strong skills in diplomacy, maintaining confidentiality, customer service, and professionalism. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong computer skills including experience with donor databases, Blackbaud/NXT/Raiser’s Edge preferred.
