A day in the life (just a few of the things you may do on any given day): As an Athlete Development Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying and recruiting talented athletes. Your primary goal will be to attract qualified athletes, build relationships with potential recruits, and guide them through the recruitment process. You will be expected to meet and exceed sales targets while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service. As an Athlete Development Specialist, some of your daily responsibilities will include: Research and identify potential athlete prospects through various channels, including online platforms, competitions, events, and referrals Develop and maintain a database of potential recruits, categorizing them based on their skills, experience, and potential fit with our organization Continuously stay up-to-date with industry trends, talent pipelines, and competitors to identify new recruitment opportunities Initiate contact with prospects through phone calls, emails, social media, and in-person meetings to establish rapport and understand their aspirations and goals Effectively communicate the benefits and opportunities offered by our organization, highlighting our values, programs, and support systems Act as a point of contact for prospective athletes and their families, addressing inquiries, providing information, and guiding them through the recruitment process Review athlete profiles, resumes, videos, and other relevant materials to assess their skills, potential, and compatibility with our organization’s requirements Arrange and conduct evaluations, tryouts, or scouting sessions to further assess athletes’ abilities and determine their suitability for recruitment. Liaise with the placement staff, talent scouts, and other relevant stakeholders to align recruitment strategies and objectives Coordinate with administrative and support staff to ensure a smooth and efficient recruitment process, including assessment reports and recruiting guidance Meet or exceed recruitment targets and sales quotas set by the organization Provide regular reports on recruitment activities, including the number of prospects contacted, evaluations conducted, and athletes recruited What we are ideally looking for from you: Bachelor’s degree in sports management, marketing, business, or a related field (preferred) Proven experience in sales, recruitment, or talent acquisition, preferably in the sports industry Strong knowledge of the sports landscape and familiarity with athlete recruitment processes Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and connect with athletes and their families Results-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively Proficiency in using CRM software, applicant tracking systems, and other relevant tools Willingness to travel and work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required What we will provide in return: A competitive salary | base + commission Multiple health insurance options Generous paid time off Ability to work remotely 1 day a week Employee centric culture and a belief that we should empower those who are good at what they do and then give them the tools they need to achieve success and grow their career A collaborative environment that fosters communication and an open-door policy ASM is an Equal Opportunity Employer and all applicants will be considered for employment without regard for race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status or any other characteristic protected by law.
