Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies’ programs and initiatives. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent writing skills and a passion for nonprofit work.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Research potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporations. Write and submit grant proposals, ensuring they align with the organization’s mission and goals. Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information and data for grant applications and reporting requirements. Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of proposals and reports. Track and report on the status of submitted grants and follow up as needed. Develop and maintain relationships with grant-making organizations and donors. Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial reports for grant applications. Stay informed about trends and best practices in grant writing and nonprofit funding.
Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field. Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in a nonprofit setting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong research and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and grant management software such as DonorPerfect. Knowledge of nonprofit funding sources and grant-making processes.
