Take Stock in Children, Inc. is a nonprofit mentoring, college success, and college scholarship organization dedicated to transforming Florida one student at a time. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty through education. Working statewide throughout Florida, Take Stock helps low-income, underrepresented, academically qualified students by providing opportunities for degree attainment or certification, including college preparation services, a postsecondary scholarship, and support through their postsecondary journey. We provide wraparound services to students through an innovative multi-year model from middle school through postsecondary completion.
Position Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Grant Writer to join our team. You will play a critical role in securing funding to fuel our mission and transform the lives of Florida students. The Grant Writer is primarily responsible for driving revenue generation through grant development and management. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional writing, research, and relationship-building skills. The Grant Writer will also contribute to other fundraising functions as needed. The Grant Writer will report directly to the V.P. of Development and External Relations.

Unearth Funding Opportunities:
A master grant researcher, identifying potential funding sources aligned with the organization’s strategic goals.
Craft Compelling Proposals:
Transform grant opportunities into well-written proposals with persuasive narratives, detailed budgets, and impactful evaluation plans. Meet Deadlines with

Ensure timely submission of grant applications and reports, keeping the organization’s funding pipeline flowing smoothly. Manage with
Precision:
Maintain a comprehensive grant calendar and stay on top of reporting requirements for awarded grants.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree is required. A minimum of 7 years of fundraising experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to grant writing success. A proven track record of securing grants. Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills are essential. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Thriving in a collaborative environment while demonstrating the ability to work independently.

TRAVEL:
This position will require some travel, approximately 20%.
