Position Summary
The Chief Development Officer will serve as the executive leader responsible for driving all inorganic growth efforts, including M&A sourcing, execution, and integration. Reporting directly to the CEO, this high-impact role will oversee the development of a scalable M&A platform while partnering with the Board, CFO, and cross-functional teams to ensure strategic alignment and value creation. The CDO will lead a growing internal team and collaborate with external advisors, intermediaries, and sellers to identify, evaluate, and close high-quality acquisition opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the full lifecycle of M&A activity—including sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, diligence, legal structuring, and integration.
Develop scalable systems, tools, and processes to support continuous deal execution across a geographically distributed footprint.
Oversee a team of high-performing deal professionals, providing mentorship, accountability, and direction on deal strategy and execution.
Build and manage strong relationships with sellers, investment banks, brokers, and other M&A intermediaries.
Present strategic opportunities and insights to the CEO, Board, and private equity sponsor, informing key capital allocation decisions.
Drive post-close integration efforts, ensuring alignment of systems, teams, and operations with the broader enterprise.
Support overall growth planning by contributing to market prioritization, performance forecasting, and network design.
Qualifications
12-20+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or senior-level corporate development roles.
Proven track record of sourcing and executing M&A transactions in multi-site, service-driven businesses; experience in hospitality, real estate, or consumer services is highly valued.
Executive presence and stakeholder management skills, including Board and investor engagement.
Strong strategic mindset with hands-on experience in due diligence, financial modeling, legal structuring, and operational integration.
Ability to build, lead, and scale a high-performing team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Willingness to travel to key operating regions and HQ, with periodic visits to cultural and operational hubs including the Florida panhandle.
