Intown Cares, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit leading the Atlanta community in homeless outreach and food security programs, is seeking a motivated and kind Development Associate to join our growing team. Founded in 2010, Intown Cares has grown tremendously, more than doubling in size over the past five years. Last year, our 25+ passionate team members housed more than 200 individuals and provided food to more than 5,000 people. The Development Associate will play a critical role in continuing this success and growth. What You’ll Do The role of the Development Associate is to manage our development database; manage and grow our foundation grant portfolio; and support individual giving efforts. This position is a vital part of our development team; you will be in a position essential to our fundraising success and therefore our ability to power our organization’s meaningful work! Qualifications Required Passion for sharing your gifts and talents with neighbors experiencing homelessness and hunger Ability to think strategically and critically Highly effective written and verbal communication skills Relationship building and maintenance skills Strong understanding and comfort with technology Strong ability to track and calendar tasks and follow through Preferred Bachelor’s degree Fundraising experience Database/CRM experience Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Responsibilities Development Database Management (50%) Enter and maintain donor and donation information, including relationships between donors, in our CRM database Manage stewardship and cultivation activities for individual donors Collaborate with finance staff member or consultant to ensure their QuickBooks records mirror database Seek out increased efficiencies Grant Management and Writing (30%) Act as main contact for Intown Cares’ grant writing contractor; review and submit contractor’s grant applications online Write and submit grant applications of your own Manage ongoing funder needs such as reporting; grow funder relationships Conduct research to identify new funder prospects when appropriate In collaboration with grant writing contractor, maintain grants calendar including, but not limited to, deadlines, contacts, responsible persons, and reporting criteria Work with Senior Director of Development and program staff to develop strong cases for support, including data and stories, in a competitive funding climate Individual Giving Stewardship and Support (20%) Maintain, steward, and cultivate a portfolio of donors with annual giving up to $2,499 Support Senior Director of Development and Executive Director in managing their relationships with donors who give $2,500+ Support giving campaigns including Giving Tuesday/GA Gives Day, End of Calendar Year, End of Fiscal Year, and others as appropriate Organize Intown Cares’ participation in annual Hunger Walk event On a cadence, conduct research and analysis to identify potential new donors or donors with increased giving capacity General On occasion, act as an ambassador to increase awareness of Intown Cares’ mission through attending events or leading educational opportunities Work Hours and Location The Development Associate position is a full-time, 40 hours per week position. The Development Associate will work in Intown Cares’ Atlanta office at least three days a week with a hybrid work schedule possible. Supervision The Development Associate reports to and works collaboratively with Intown Cares’ Senior Director of Development. Compensation and Benefits The Development Associate role is a salaried position with an annual base salary range of $55,000-62,000, which will be paid in equal installments every two weeks according to Intown Cares’ regularly scheduled paydays. Benefits include healthcare, dental, and vision insurance—with employer contributions—as well as healthcare and dependent care FSAs, professional development resources, and generous personal and vacation days off. This position is exempt and therefore not eligible for overtime pay for any additional hours worked. The position is eligible for all employee benefits, mileage reimbursement in accordance with the applicable IRS mileage rate at the time expenses are incurred for pre-approved business travel, and a portion of personal mobile phone bill.
