By expertly managing the prospecting, cultivation, and stewardship of loyal donors, this role is essential in ensuring a robust pipeline of gifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prospecting and Donor Stewardship:
Steward existing donors and manage a caseload of high engagement donors. Promote the organization through presentations, brochures, and involvement in professional groups. Maintain donor and prospect files, compile statistics, and assist with PR and volunteer events. Develop tailored impact reports and updates to maintain donor and partner enthusiasm.
Strategic Fundraising Initiatives:
Create strategic engagement plans and identify potential new prospects. Develop and implement tailored strategies for soliciting major gifts, including preparing proposals and presentations. Collaborate with brand and marketing teams to maximize storytelling opportunities through media, social campaigns, and press coverage.
Donor Awareness and Education:
Educate donors on gift offerings to meet their philanthropic goals. Secure and use donor testimonials in marketing materials. Coordinate and host various donor engagement events. Build partnerships for educational opportunities and respond to donor inquiries. Work with program staff to understand needs and align donor interests with organizational priorities. Represent Atlanta Mission at church events, conferences, and community gatherings to increase visibility and support. Develop and lead informational sessions, workshops, and speaking engagements aimed at educating faith-based audiences about the organization’s impact. Create resources, including presentations, newsletters, and worship materials, to facilitate church engagement.
Gift Officer Responsibilities:
Track progress towards goals and ensure donor activities are recorded. Provide input into the development of long-term fundraising strategies and goals. Develop proposals, presentations, and reports to manage donor portfolio. Provide activity reports and revenue forecasts. Perform other gift officer activities as required by management. Manage donor portfolio of $700k-$900k. Meet or exceed annual revenue goals and behavior metrics.
Analytics and Tracking:
Analyze giving data and leverage moves management to inform future cultivation and solicitation strategies. Use donor history and wealth data for prospecting. Track donor information and engagement details in Salesforce. Prepare reports and updates for senior leadership on the progress and outcomes of church engagement strategies. Position Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in fundraising development.
Fundraising and Philanthropy:
In-depth understanding of fundraising principles, donor engagement strategies, and philanthropic trends.
Financial Acumen:
Basic knowledge of financial principles and practices related to charitable giving and tax implications for donors.
Nonprofit Sector:
Familiarity with the nonprofit sector, specifically within the context of mission-driven organizations and their funding needs.
Marketing and Communications:
Understanding of marketing principles, especially as they relate to donor communication and engagement.
Donor Relations:
Strong skills in building and maintaining long-term relationships with donors, including personalized communication and stewardship.
Strategic Planning:
Ability to develop and implement strategic engagement plans for various donor tracks and giving programs.
