Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Identify, cultivate and solicit alumni, parents and friends of the University along with community members to increase giving to the University. + Responsible for managing a portfolio of 250-300 prospective donors, capable of making commitments of $1,000 – $10,000 annually. + Conduct 144 in-person meetings annually with qualified prospects. + Through personal visits, e-solicitations, special events, etc. the Development Officer will establish a relationship with prospective donors and will qualify and solicit them based on their ability and propensity to make a gift at the leadership level and/or a major gift. + Responsible for designing and executing strategies to effectively identify, cultivate, solicit and steward the prospective donors at the leadership level. + Maintain complete and accurate records of contacts, proposal status, call reports and stewardship activities. + Support volunteers and volunteer groups that support fundraising initiatives and identified areas of support. + Work in concert with the prospect management team identification and donor movement. + Develop strong working relationships with the Annual Giving team and will provide leadership and coordination for Niner Nation Gives. Minimum Experience /
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree. + 2-5 years experience in fundraising, nonprofit management, higher education, sales, marketing, development, business administration, project management, or relationship management.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
+ Proven track record of securing four and five figure philanthropic gifts. + Comfortability with cold calling and scheduling stakeholder appointments. + Proven track record of working with volunteers. + Team-oriented, self-starter who can proactively work and manage complex tasks. + Proficiency in using fundraising databases and software.
