Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify, cultivate and solicit alumni, parents and friends of the University along with community members to increase giving to the University. Responsible for managing a portfolio of 250-300 prospective donors, capable of making commitments of $1,000 – $10,000 annually. Conduct 144 in-person meetings annually with qualified prospects. Through personal visits, e-solicitations, special events, etc. the Development Officer will establish a relationship with prospective donors and will qualify and solicit them based on their ability and propensity to make a gift at the leadership level and/or a major gift. Responsible for designing and executing strategies to effectively identify, cultivate, solicit and steward the prospective donors at the leadership level. Maintain complete and accurate records of contacts, proposal status, call reports and stewardship activities. Support volunteers and volunteer groups that support fundraising initiatives and identified areas of support. Work in concert with the prospect management team identification and donor movement. Develop strong working relationships with the Annual Giving team and will provide leadership and coordination for Niner Nation Gives. Minimum Experience /
Education:
Bachelor’s degree. 2-5 years experience in fundraising, nonprofit management, higher education, sales, marketing, development, business administration, project management, or relationship management.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Proven track record of securing four and five figure philanthropic gifts. Comfortability with cold calling and scheduling stakeholder appointments. Proven track record of working with volunteers. Team-oriented, self-starter who can proactively work and manage complex tasks. Proficiency in using fundraising databases and software.
