Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Grant Writer & Strategic Partnerships Coordinator plays a critical role in advancing The Timothy Initiative’s mission to multiply disciples and plant churches among the unreached by cultivating and stewarding funding relationships with institutional partners. This role requires a unique blend of strategic thinking, compelling storytelling, and meticulous attention to detail. The Grant Writer & Strategic Partnerships Coordinator will lead the development of clear, accurate, and inspiring proposals and reports that communicate the heart and impact of TTI’s global ministry. As a key connector between the field and our funding partners, they are equipping and mobilizing resources for Kingdom expansion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the writing and submission of grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports to foundations and other institutional partners, in alignment with TTI’s mission and funding priorities. Conduct research to identify partner funding opportunities that match TTI’s funding needs, using all available research tools. Work collaboratively with the Reporting Department, Development Department, and the Office of the President to ensure reporting accuracy, consistency of messaging, and strategic funding alignment. Work with field/department leaders to gather relevant information to share with partners for prospective funding opportunities. Maintain a calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and reports. Ensure prompt acknowledgement of institutional and foundation gifts. Provide recurring updates to partners, such as mid-year touchpoints, story-based impact snapshots, or customized engagement reports, as needed. Provide timely written reports to partners based on their reporting timelines. Support strategic engagement plans for key institutional donors by coordinating meeting prep, providing briefings, and ensuring follow-through. Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, including logging all proposals, submitted reports, communications, and partner funding information for easy reference and reporting. Serve as the point of administrative contact for strategic partners that require customized updates, communications, or reporting outside of TTI’s standard quarterly reporting process. Other duties and projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): To be a good fit for this position: Be a passionate follower of Jesus, with a demonstrable heart for His Great Commission. College Degree strongly preferred. Grant writing, researching, and tracking experience strongly preferred. Experience working within a nonprofit/fundraising context preferred. Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating an ability to work well with others as well as an ability to communicate cross-culturally with an internationally diverse team. Proficient/expert writing and research skills. Diligence and attention to detail in order to meet deadlines in a fast-paced worked environment. Prepare clear, accurate and concise correspondence, records, reports and other documents. Flexibility and a willingness to take initiative. Dependable with a maturity of judgment and respect for needs of partners and co-workers. Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with senior management, staff, partners, board members, and others encountered in the course of work. Use a high degree of tact, discretion and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive situations and concerned groups and/or individuals. Organized and ability to prioritize multiple projects at a time. Is required to work in our main office in Raleigh, NC.
