POSITION SUMMARY

The Development Coordinator supports the mission of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This full-time position will assist the Development team with administrative tasks, ensuring efficient and accurate data management and donor relations. This role will report directly to the Chief Mission Advancement Officer. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking an introductory role in fundraising and development, or for those looking for full-time work in the non-profit sector.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Prepare and send correspondence and acknowledgment letters for annual campaign gifts promptly and accurately. Support event logistics and coordination for fundraising related events. Update donation information in donor management system Ensure accuracy and segmentation lists. Maintain organized and timely documentation of all development activities. Prepare reports for accounting and development to enhance data management and streamline processes. Help in the preparation of external facing communications including but not limited to social media, email drip campaigns, e-newletters, and more. Maintains highly confidential executive and board files, minutes and correspondence Assist in preparing and distributing materials for campaigns and events. Support the CMAO and other Advancement Team members in various tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the development department. Represent the Y at community events and meetings. Perform other duties as requested Remain current in required and voluntary training in order to promote growth of the mind, body and spirit and character values for all. Uses discretion and independent judgement in handling confidential and sensitive information. Support a culture of gratitude and giving back among colleague and the community through positive member engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS

College degree: related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Business office experience (including administrative roles) preferably in a nonprofit setting. Community relations experience Strong data entry skills and proficiency with database management. Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software, including Microsoft Office. Donor management software experience preferred. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
