$49,000.00 Job Description/Summary The Youth Development Specialist coordinates and facilitates prevention and evidenced-based programming. The Youth Development Specialist provides individual or group counseling services to students on youth development topics (i.e. relationships, social skills, emotion regulation, etc.). YDS will conduct group prevention programs related to a variety of adolescent issues including career vocational counseling, substance abuse awareness, peer leadership and life skills. YDS will provide case-management and support to students requiring additional skills in other non-clinical areas of development. YDS will organize field trips and summer transition programming as well as monthly prevention awareness campaigns. Responsibilities Coordinates services with child study team, guidance departments and other district personnel; Provides case management services to students through community agencies, e.g., DCPP, FCYU, OC Probation Dept. etc.; Contributes to program development and planning; Covers program activities when needed; Provides crisis management and intervention, when needed; Competencies Proficiently communicates- written and verbal Working with adolescents/youth and families Bilingual preferred Spanish or Haitian Creole (but not required)

Qualifications Education:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

License:

Driver’s License New Jersey valid and in good standing
