SUMMARY OF DUTIES
The Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations and Advancement is responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive strategic plan to identify, build, solicit, and steward corporate and foundation relationships with organizational donors at the local, state, and national levels. The Director builds and manages a portfolio of key corporate and foundation prospects to secure new and recurrent levels of support through grants and sponsorships aligned with People Inc.’s mission and strategic priorities. The Director identifies funding sources, develops grant proposals and contribution requests, prepares research data/content, and related supporting materials. The Director also supports the Sr. Vice President of Advancement in the completion of special projects that advance the goals of People Inc. and the People Inc. Foundation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 75
%: Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive development plan, including tactics, key performance indicators, and metrics, to build relationships that result in corporate and foundation monetary support in the form of grants, gifts, or sponsorships. Identify, evaluate, cultivate and solicit corporate and private foundation prospects, with a primary focus on major philanthropic commitments of $25,000 and more, to support the mission and strategic goals of People Inc. Work closely with the Sr. Vice President of Advancement and other agency leaders to develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of agency funding priorities, needs and accomplishments, across disciplines and program areas. Lead and coordinate teams of internal staff and external individuals towards the successful completion of proposals. Identify strategic partnerships that align with People Inc. and the People Inc. Foundation’s fundraising goals. Build and maintain relationships internally, and with funders and other community partners. Represent People Inc. in meetings with institutional funders and external stakeholders to promote the organization’s impact and vision and to actively build awareness among corporate and foundation constituencies to expand positive fund-raising relationships. Utilize professional and persuasive communication in representing the Agency to external audiences and high-level stakeholders. Develop briefing memos and materials for donors and/or for Agency leaders as needed. Lead and coordinate the post-award process, including required programmatic and financial monitoring and reporting. Maintain high quality stewardship process, and as required, lead and coordinate meetings or events with funders to cultivate and enhance relationships. Documents all contacts, communications, visits, and proposals in Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge software, as well as in reporting to Advancement leadership. Establish and monitor metrics for prospect visits and proposals. Work collaboratively with the Grants Department to share information on agency initiatives and projects/proposal and to develop reports. Interact with the Business Office to monitor the financial aspects and spending of private/corporate gifts and grants as needed. 25%: Support special projects as requested by the Sr. Vice President for Advancement. Coordinate critical projects and requests for and from the SVP to facilitate Advancement and People Inc. Foundation priorities, including but not limited to: o Case statements o Project/program concepts Comply with all Agency and departmental policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality and follow policies related to confidential information. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree Required, Masters or Doctoral Degree Preferred 5-7 years experience minimally Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Highly collaborative and professional. Knowledge of reliable sources related to funding sources and data regarding topics aligned with the agency mission and initiatives. Strong organizational and project management skills, with an ability to effectively manage multiple diverse projects and details simultaneously, ensuring organization, accuracy, and timely execution. Proficient in managing deadlines, multiple projects, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Comfort with understanding and using data in assessing program outcomes. Ability to manage relationships with tact and discretion, a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality, extraordinary judgment. Must be resourceful, self-motivated, and proactive. Aptitude with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet research. Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, preferred. Preference for someone with professional experience related to the following topics: health care, intellectual & developmental disabilities, aging, and the social determinants of health.
