$60,000 – $75,000 The Lupus Research Alliance (LRA), the world’s largest non-governmental funder of lupus research, seeks a highly motivated and innovative Corporate Partnerships Associate. This role is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding entry-level corporate donor contributions. With a focus on low-to-mid-level corporate sponsorships, the qualified candidate will have a proven track record in building relationships at a nonprofit to achieve key organizational goals. The successful candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit to champion LRA in the corporate and grantmaking community. The successful candidate will be a curious and motivated nonprofit professional with a unique gift for translating best practices into award winning proposals, requests, and presentations. The incumbent should be eager to build relationships and grow corporate engagement through innovative thinking, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through on donor tasks and deliverables. This position will be required to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, a high level of data/systems aptitude, and strong research skills.
Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of corporate donors and prospect opportunities, with a heavy emphasis on corporate sponsorship. This includes building a pipeline, identifying and updating giving amounts, building relationships from early engagement, and strategically cultivating corporate sponsorship ranging between $1,000 and above. Assemble and submit membership/event/special initiative sponsorship grant requests, including assembling letters, proposals, pre-approved budgets and presentations, with support from Senior Manager. Ensure the acknowledgement of corporate donations Work with Finance and other departments to gather information necessary to report to corporate funders on events, memberships, and/or special initiative budgets, or expenses. Develop and execute individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies to meet or exceed established metrics (e.g., calls/visits, proposals, reports, renewals). Provide quarterly progress reports to the Senior Manager. Conduct regular donor meetings (virtual and in-person), using storytelling and tailored messaging to articulate LRA’s mission, impact, and giving opportunities. Craft pitches which are polished, professional, and customized to each company’s interest areas. Identify and qualify new prospects through proactive outreach, research, and collaboration. Expand the corporate donor pipeline by uncovering untapped relationships and cultivating interest in LRA’s mission and various sponsorship event offerings. Maintain accurate and timely records of all donor interactions, plans, and outcomes in LRA’s donor database (Salesforce). Use data to inform next steps and ensure seamless team collaboration and reporting. Draft personalized proposals, stewardship reports, and donor communications in partnership with team members and colleagues. Assist in sponsorship support, coordination, and follow-through related to key donor events in collaboration with program staff, development project manager, and Senior Manager. Represent LRA at events, site visits, and gatherings, serving as a warm and professional ambassador. Partner with LRA staff to stay informed and build strong internal relationships that support donor strategy and storytelling.
Qualifications:
1- 2 years of relevant experience working at a nonprofit in development/fundraising A natural sense of curiosity and the drive to understand what motivates corporate giving Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence; able to build rapport and long-term relationships with a diverse donor base Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Highly motivated and proactive, with a track record of taking initiative, staying organized, and following through on tasks Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive written correspondence (email, proposals, etc.) Strong attention to detail Strong contributor in team environments Experience working in deadline-driven environments Experience in grant writing preferred Expertise using Salesforce.com or equivalent CRM preferred Familiarity with project management applications such as Asana preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, and general computer literacy Ability to travel as needed Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and CV/resume.
