GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Development Associate(DA) is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the ChiefDevelopment Officer (CDO). The DA is responsible for coordinatingand implementing strategies that attract and retain individual andcorporate support for WYH and its sister agency (Equinox),including direct mail and digital appeals. The Associate assiststhe CDO in managing existing relationships with both WYH andEquinox partners through stewardship while expanding the portfolioof individual and corporate donors through research, cultivationand solicitation activities. The Associate also manages one donordatabase (Raiser’s Edge NXT), used for both affiliated agencies andreports on progress-against-goals for individual, corporate andfoundation giving. The Associate will provide support to the CDOand Development Consultants (Grants and Capital Campaign), asneeded, with research, applications, and gift/pledge management.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Support Chief Development Officer in thedevelopment and implementation of the annual Development Plan Helpmeet/exceed annual goals for meaningful contacts with donors andprospective donors, as well as annual financial goals Assist theCDO with researching, identifying and cultivating new leads forindividual, corporate and foundation donors; and developingrevenue-generating and stewardship strategies for select donorgroups and prospects Provide strategic support to CDO in expandingrelationships with current partners and vendors,and in identifyingnew corporate and community partnerships that represent growthopportunities Accompany leadership or members of the Board ondevelopment calls/visits, when CDO is unavailable and whenappropriate and required Coordinate matching gifts program and/orworkplace giving campaigns Maintain mailing lists; coordinatemailings with mail house Track assignments and activities throughthe use of Raiser’s Edge NXT database system, ensuring thatassigned actions are completed and regularly updated, and reportsare generated as necessary Enter gifts into database, generatepledge reminders, gift acknowledgements and donor reports; Preparedeposits and reports for Finance for WYH donations; prepare andmake Development bank deposits for Equinox donations; Trackevent/appeal revenue and expenses; generate appropriaterevenue-expense reports for Development team to evaluateeffectiveness of efforts; generate monthly metrics and monthlyreconciliation report for both WYH and Equinox Finance Departments.

A Legacy Celebration; as well as donorand public relations events (i.e. groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings,grand openings, donor recognition receptions, etc.) Be responsiblefor other development duties and responsibilities for both Equinoxand WYH as assigned Demonstrates excellence in both internal andexternal customer service. Understands and is able to effectivelycommunicate HIPAA compliance, corporate compliance and clientconfidentiality. Ensures and/or remains in compliance with local,state, and federal regulation, i.e. DHHS HRSA and NYSDOH, and allaccreditation standards (e.g. Joint Commission and

NCQA-PCMH

).Adheres to the National Patient Safety Goals as defined by theJoint Commission and Whitney M. Young Jr. Health Center. Completesother duties as assigned. Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associates Degree required. Three (3) to five (5) years of relatedwork experience demonstrating successful development experience indonor relations and event coordination may be substituted for adegree; computer proficiency in donor database systems andMicrosoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher;excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;excellent organizational skills; independent, self-starter who ishighly motivated and creative; holds valid NYS license, safedriving record, and access to reliable transportation.

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Salary range:

$23.00 – $26.50 hourly
