SUMMARY:

Responsible for the Credit Union’s proactive membership development activities that promote the growth of the Credit Union by attracting new members, deposit accounts, loans, and business relationships. This is accomplished by developing and maintaining strong ties between SAFE and employers operating within SAFE’s footprint. Priorities include growing the number of companies opting for Select Employee Group (SEG) status with SAFE, building relationships with schools and the business community, and creating opportunities to directly open new member relationships. Collaborates with VPs and AVPs to identify and support targeted areas where expansion and growth efforts will be concentrated.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following: SEG Recruitment Builds and maintains an active, ongoing SEG recruitment program to include: Identifying, researching, and targeting prospective SEGs Executing a methodical recruitment outreach/follow-up program to include email, direct mail, personal contact, telephone, and other media as appropriate. Making presentations to prospective SEGs to educate about SAFE, its values/services, and the benefits of SEG status to the organization and its employees. Tracking all related contact efforts. Prepares/submits applications for new underserved areas and records field of membership charter amendments as directed by NCUA, including charter update notifications. Completes the SEG onboarding process from application to final approval by SAFE’s Board and the NCUA. Serves as primary contact for current SEGs and maintains personal contact with SEG leaders to ensure continued strong awareness of SAFE’s offerings and ongoing participation in SAFE’s programs. Membership Development – SEG & Business Sector Increases membership growth by organizing and executing sales initiatives/events for SEG employees/members (e.g. new hire orientation, financial wellness, appreciation days, etc.). Opens new memberships and accounts as an added benefit for employees. Coordinates the mailing/delivery of promotional materials to select SEGs. Plans and organizes special events and promotions to expand SAFE’s presence within new SEGs and underserved communities. Serves as a primary contact between SAFE and area business, civic, and arts organizations. Collaborates with the Promotions & Community Relations Specialist regarding SAFE participation in community events. Recommends and oversees sponsorships in line with SAFE’s vision/brand. Represents SAFE Federal Credit Union at business and civic functions to foster awareness of SAFE and its products/services. Membership Development – Youth & Education Sector Supervises initiatives to promote financial wellness and financial education within schools. Maintains reports on activities, outcomes, and updates related to contracted third-party financial education vendors. Collaborate with educators and stakeholders to ensure alignment with student needs and curriculum. Increases membership growth by organizing and executing sales initiatives/events directed to students and school faculty. Opens new memberships and accounts as an added benefit for students, faculty, and family members at various events. Serves as a primary contact between SAFE and schools within the Credit Union’s footprint. Collaborates with the Promotions & Community Relations Specialist regarding SAFE participation in community events. Recommends and oversees sponsorships in line with SAFE’s vision/brand. Represents SAFE Federal Credit Union at school functions to foster awareness of SAFE and its products/services. Support Tracks SEG acquisition activity and reports monthly on current/future SEG prospects and where each stands in their decisioning/approval process. Tracks membership development activities including, but not limited to, events organized by chambers of commerce, schools, community organizations, civic entities, and businesses. Reports monthly on new members/accounts gained directly by membership development through SEG events and community involvement/sponsorships. Prepares updates for Board and management each month and special reports as needed. Prepares annual budget for area of responsibility to include SAFE-sponsored community events, SEG events, Chamber membership fees, and other applicable sponsorships. Reviews and reconciles corporate credit card statements and other miscellaneous invoices for all areas of responsibility. Responsible for maintenance and overall upkeep of credit union vehicle when used for Membership Development purposes. Maintains detailed files on competitor products and services. Other duties as assigned.

Cooperative and positive attitude toward members and other credit union staff. Must fully understand credit union loan and deposit products and services and be able to open accounts and cross-sell. Regulatory Requirements:

EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree (ideally in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field) strongly preferred and four to six, or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience/Ability to cultivate, open, and service new member accounts. Sales experience to include lead generation, prospect outreach, follow-though, and ongoing relationship management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a thorough understanding of sales, promotions, and member/community relations. Ability to measure the success of campaigns. Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
