Join a high-performing team that has consistently exceeded fundraising goals for eight consecutive years, including record-breaking results for the past three. The ideal candidate will bring experience in fundraising, volunteer management, sales, and/or relationship building. A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience—preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting—is required.
Position Summary:
The Development Officer is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors and prospects capable of making leadership-level gifts to The Webb School. The primary goal is to retain and grow the number of leadership-level donors while building a robust pipeline for major gift opportunities. This position collaborates closely with the Alumni & Development team and engages stakeholders across all constituencies. The Development Officer reports to the Associate Director of Alumni & Development.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of 250-300 prospects, with a focus on Webb Fund solicitations in the $1,870-$15,000 range. Complete 100-125 face-to-face solicitations annually. Travel extensively to meet donors and prospects (30-40 nights per year). Serve as a key liaison for external relations and create meaningful engagement opportunities. Develop and implement grant writing strategies and cultivate annual corporate sponsorships. Assist in identifying prospects for major and planned gift opportunities. Track fundraising progress and ensure accurate, up-to-date donor records. Support and attend donor and alumni events. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated success in fundraising, volunteer management, sales, or relationship building. Strategic, creative thinker with strong planning skills. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
