The Community Outreach Specialist reports directly to the Project Director and is responsible for assisting with project implementation and evaluation. A successful candidate must be capable of prioritizing activities, meeting goals and objectives in a timely fashion, and managing a significant amount of project detail. Prevention Specialist:

Act as a consultant and technical expert in substance abuse prevention matters. Implement the Strategic Prevention Framework, a public health framework to identify needs, implement evidence-based prevention activities, and evaluate activities appropriate for universal populations in Davidson County. Oversee community engagement support efforts. Work in the community to implement activities including but not limited to organizing resource tables, participation in drug takeback events, and involvement with youth-focused activities. Coordinate substance misuse prevention education initiatives outlined in the required activities and implementation plan. Assist with required grant reporting. Within the first year of employment, obtain the Coalition Prevention Specialist certificate from the Tennessee Certification Board.
