Job Description

Development Officer and Grants Manager Tennessee’s first institution of higher learning is seeking applicants for the Director of Grants and Development. Located in the foothills of the Southern Appalachians, our campus offers 140 acres of beautiful walking trails, access to National Parks, and nearby restaurants, nightlife, and family activities. The function of the Development Officer and Grants Manager is to gather documentation and fulfill the requirements of various funding bodies to secure funding on behalf of the University formally. The ideal candidate will be an excellent researcher who can locate funding organizations and ensure the grants align with our non-profit institution. They must also be astute writers who know how to properly appeal to funding organizations’ boards. In addition to the grant procurement process, this position will also manage an assigned portfolio in The Development Officer and Grants Manager will also assist with fundraising, campaigns, and events within the Institutional Advancement office. They will focus on cultivating constituent relationships, soliciting and retaining donors, and identifying and soliciting new donors. This position will remain open until filled.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of three (3) years of grant or related sales or advancement experience
Previous experience with grant writing
Demonstrated competence in computer skills, especially in Excel, Word, and donor databases; Knowledge of Institutional Advancement in higher education is preferred but not required.
