JOB SUMMARY
Supports the organization’s advancement efforts in fundraising and development as a major gift professional by serving as a storytelling ambassador – taking complex ideas and issues and communicating them in a compelling way which invites others to be a part. This will be achieved by managing an existing portfolio of mid- to upper-level donors to the organization, as well as forging new relationships to grow the visibility, impact, and funding for Emerald Youth and Emerald Charter Schools.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Develop, grow, and manage a comprehensive strategy for building annual gift commitments for a portfolio of donors and broaden donors through individual relationship, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding for Emerald Youth and Emerald Charter Schools. Increase overall giving participation needed to reach established fundraising goals. Write donor proposals and execute gift agreements as needed. Develop coordinated solicitation strategies designed to retain, elevate, and recruit monthly donors, annual gifts, and mid- to upper-level donors. Work closely with advancement team members to secure funding for new initiatives. Partner across the organization to achieve department objectives, as needed. Be an example and encourage spiritual disciplines for team, modeling the teachings of Jesus Christ.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS A
person who is striving to shape thoughts and actions after the servant leader model of Jesus Christ. (Phil. 2:5-8) Has a commitment to work hard and unselfishly in Christian community, a passion to keep learning, adopted practices and high standards which support a life worthy of a Kingdom of God calling with children, and is able to meet the expectations of service with others. Has a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of proven fundraising experience in a non-profit organization. Demonstrates strong capacity in the areas of writing, editing, verbal skills, technology, and self-motivation, hospitality, supervision, moves management Microsoft Office and database management, preferably Raiser’s Edge. Physical Requirements – sedentary position with ability to move about and travel mostly in the Knoxville area. Occasionally lift objects up to 20lbs for set up of events and other activities associated with the role.
