PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Injury Prevention Specialist will be charged with knowledge on a variety of topics regarding injury prevention and keep the Community Benefit Manager in the know of all education and opportunities provided by partners such as but not limited to the following:,Safe Kids Worldwide, Project Adam, Breathe Easy, NHTSA.

Minimum Work Experience:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must be able to have good communication skills and positive attitude when discussing topics for education to the public. Must have working knowledge and some experience in injury prevention topics. Education to be provided through ETCH if needed. Will work closely with Community Benefit Manager for resources and communication needed for events. Preferred by not required, grant reporting experience. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects efficiently. Strong organization skills required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must stay up to date on injury prevention topics, updates and requirements by national partners including national awareness dates.
Must be able to work Microsoft Office and other injury prevention software used by ETCH.
Provide hands-on training to community of trainees Teach proper techniques to adults and children for each injury prevention topic event
Excellent communication skills both within organization and in community
Represent East Tennessee Children’s Hospital with the up most respect as this is a public facing role.
Be able to transport training materials for events.
Be able to work with Community Benefit Manager but also independently for events/classes if needed
Be able to community with school educators as needed specifically in logistics for CPR classes
Must be able to teach CPR courses as needed by Community Benefit Manager.
If teaching a certification course, must be able to manage trainees during trainings and ensure they are attentive for teachings.
Other injury prevention duties as assigned.
