Our mission is to implement solutions that address street crime, blight, and dilapidated housing, empowering residents to restore their communities with the resources they need. Job purpose The Development Director plays a key role in cultivating and maintaining deep and fruitful relationships with philanthropic partners and donors. Development Director oversees the fundraising efforts of Neighbor Up Brevard. He/She is also responsible for analyzing, developing, executing, and monitoring marketing strategies across a variety of channels, and through special events, resulting in increased monetary and in-kind resources for the organization. Duties and responsibilities Marketing
- Develop, implement, and track marketing programs such as email, social media, digital and mailing campaigns, and events
- Maintain and enhance communications on the Neighbor Up Brevard website and social media
- Assure consistent growth of Neighbor Up’s footprint on social networking sites
- Develop and create marketing materials to promote Neighbor Up to the public, donors and sponsors, ensuring that content is fresh and that brand guidelines are met. This includes newsletters, brochures, flyers, rack cards, photos, appeals, videos, presentations, forms, and impact statements, annual reports, etc.
- Analyze and report on the performance and efficiency of campaigns
- Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify new marketing opportunities
- Actively participate in speaking engagements in churches, community groups, and businesses Donor Cultivation
- Develop, implement or maintain a system that will enable the effective cultivation and solicitation of donors (e.g. individuals, churches, community groups, and businesses)
- Manage the implementation and utilization of donor software
- Manage, track and monitor all components of data entry and gift processing
- Establish and cultivate relationships with existing as well as potential donors and sponsors
- Provide ongoing timely communication with donors and sponsors to keep them informed on how their giving/financial investment is making a difference
- Recruit churches, community groups, and businesses for tours, volunteer opportunities, and sponsorship opportunities Fundraising
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to create and implement a fundraising plan
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to conceive, launch and manage capital campaigns as needed
- Achieve agreed upon fundraising goals
- Develop digital fundraising strategies Obtain financial support from individuals and organizations
- Manage fundraising and special events from conceptualization to completion .
- Initiate creative ways to engage the Brevard community and to celebrate and convey Neighbor Up’s mission, as it relates to all of the programs under the Neighbor Up “umbrella”.
- Recruit, train, and support key volunteers for fundraising initiatives. Volunteer Engagement
- Lead, supervise or delegate the stewardship of current and prospective relationships with volunteers
- Identify new opportunities for volunteers to engage in the mission of NUB
- Develop and.or maintain a comprehensive and cohesive approach to volunteer engagement
- Design, implement and manage systems to enhance effectiveness of internal efforts to recruit, appreciate, and retain volunteers.
- Refer requests for information to programs staff as appropriate and follow up as needed.
- Provide analysis and help design reports on key metrics and performance indicators.
- Proactively seek to engage churches across denominational lines for the purpose of recruiting volunteers, and other types of engagement.
- Organize and provide orientations and training for volunteers and assist in scheduling volunteer activities.
- Coordinates volunteer recognition efforts to include awards, birthdays, anniversaries, appreciation notes, etc.
- Maintain consistent and accurate records of all communication and activity with churches, community groups, and businesses Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or a related field preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in marketing or business development experience
- Strong knowledge of various marketing and analytics tools, CRM systems, and content management systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to produce creative and effective marketing materials
- Experience creating campaigns, marketing strategies, and materials for the demographic/target audience to be reached by Neighbor Up Brevard
- Strong public speaking skills
- Skilled in writing and editing content with an attention to detail
- Strong prioritization, organization, and project management skills
- Proven ability to network, build relationships, and create community partnerships
- Excellent analytical skills and a knack for data analysis
- Able to work independently
- Able to travel, work nontraditional hours and weekends as needed
- Experience in the nonprofit sector, preferred Working conditions Regular work hours are Monday – Friday, with occasional evening or week-end responsibilities that may be outside and/or off-site.
Work environment is a hybrid model, allowing for flexibility between attendance at meetings and events at Neighbor Up and working remotely. Work schedule may be set by the employee contingent upon supervisory approval. Physical requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Direct reports This is not a supervisory position.
