Annual Fund & Membership Manager Position Overview Riverside Theatre seeks a strategic, donor-focused, and results-driven Annual Fund & Membership Manager to oversee and grow the theatre’s Annual Fund and Membership programs. This role is responsible for creating and executing multi-channel fundraising strategies to increase participation, retention, and engagement among individual donors and members at all giving levels. As an integral member of the development team, this position works under the supervision of the Director of Philanthropy and collaborates with the Development Communications Manager, marketing team, guest services, and senior leadership to craft compelling messaging, track donor engagement, and develop innovative donor acquisition and retention strategies. This is an exciting opportunity for a fundraising professional who thrives on data-driven decision-making, donor cultivation, and stewardship efforts while developing initiatives that align with Riverside Theatre’s mission: “To enrich, inspire, and entertain through the power of theatre.” Key Responsibilities Annual Fund Strategy & Execution Develop and implement a comprehensive Annual Fund plan to achieve annual fundraising goals, with a focus on increasing donor participation, retention, and gift upgrades. Create and execute multi-channel fundraising appeals, including direct mail, digital campaigns, phone outreach, and targeted donor engagement strategies. Responsible for cultivating, soliciting and stewarding individuals and institutions giving between $5,000 & $25,000 (i.e. patron producers, sponsors, members at the Benefactor level). Manage direct response, multi-channel fundraising targeted at donors below $5,000. Work closely with the Patron Communications Manager to craft compelling messaging that tells Riverside Theatre’s story, conveys impact, and inspires giving. Establish data-driven strategies for donor segmentation, personalized outreach, and campaign optimization. Monitor Annual Fund metrics, tracking progress toward fundraising goals and adjusting strategies based on data insights. Membership Program Oversight Oversee and manage the membership program, ensuring an engaging and rewarding experience for members at all levels. Develop new benefits and experiences to retain and attract members, working closely with the marketing and guest services teams. Create strategies to increase membership revenue by promoting membership as a gateway to deeper donor engagement. Work with the Patron Data & CRM Manager to track membership renewals, lapsed members, and acquisition trends. Donor Cultivation & Stewardship Implement personalized donor engagement plans to strengthen relationships and encourage deeper involvement in Riverside Theatre’s mission. Plan and execute Annual Fund donor recognition initiatives, including stewardship events, exclusive backstage experiences, and personalized communications. Collaborate with the Donor Stewardship & Engagement Manager to ensure consistent and meaningful donor appreciation efforts. Partner with the Director of Special Events to integrate Annual Fund donors into key donor gatherings and recognition opportunities. Cross-Departmental Collaboration Work closely with the Development Communications Manager and marketing team to ensure fundraising campaigns are well-promoted and aligned with institutional branding. Coordinate with the Guest Services team to provide excellent customer service for donors and members. Partner with the Patron Data & CRM Manager to maintain accurate donor records, track giving history, and analyze donor trends for strategic outreach. Database & Reporting Management Maintain accurate donor and membership records in Tessitura (or other CRM system), ensuring all gifts and pledges are properly recorded. Generate reports tracking Annual Fund progress, membership retention, donor trends, and campaign effectiveness. Utilize data analysis and donor research to inform segmentation, upgrade strategies, and personalized outreach efforts. Education & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required in Nonprofit Management, Arts Administration, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Master’s degree is a bonus in a related field. CFRE certification a plus. Experience & Skills 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, membership programs, or donor relations in a nonprofit or arts-related organization. Knowledge of annual giving best practices, donor acquisition strategies, and stewardship techniques. Experience managing multi-channel fundraising campaigns (direct mail, digital outreach, email marketing). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and donor CRM systems like Raisers Edge, DonorPerfect, Blackbaud but Tessitura preferred. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple fundraising initiatives simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience crafting donor-centric messaging. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret donor data and translate insights into actionable fundraising strategies. A deep appreciation for theatre and the performing arts is highly preferred.
